Welcome to this New Video Marketing Series
Are you wondering how to stand out with video marketing? Read on to discover how PUSH will help you make great videos to glue your audience’s attention to your message.
Video marketing certainly is the name of the game for 2012. Video is the word you’ll find in tons of prediction lists for 2012 -produced by a variety of marketing pros. Certainly YouTube’s makeover offers a lot of new opportunities for every blogger, entrepreneur or marketer. More on that next week. In this article you’ll discover the magnetic power of one word, PUSH: Pictures, Understandable writing, Sound and Humanization.
#1 Use great Pictures
Quality content should always be your number one focus. This goes for any type of social media you use. And video demands a certain approach. Without great pictures (shots) your quality content will not push your viewers to take action. Think about how to visualize your message, your subject, your main characters, the location and background.
Draw your audience attention in the first 3 seconds. Start with your best shot. Vary your shots. Watch the news and learn how they use alternating shots to keep your attention.
#2 Add Understandable Writing
Your video marketing success needs compelling words. This is important for blogs as well as for video. Do not underestimate the power of great words. Your video audience want be able to reread your words. Follow the golden rule of KISS: “keep it simple and stupid”. Don’t use complex phrases. Think about Twitter. If you can’t tell your message in less than 140 characters, rewrite it. The same goes for video marketing. Start thinking about your pictures first and add your great and understandable writing next.
#3 Secure the best Sound
Create hollywood quality films
Great sound is half of your video marketing success. Great sound attracts your audience attention. If you’re filming on location, consider the natural sounds of your surroundings. Lets imagine you’re filming near the Niagara Falls. Think about the magical sound of this falling water. Visualize the power of this with adding the natural sounds of megatons of water falling down by the power of gravity. Can you hear it?
#4 Finish with the flavor of Humanization
Successful videos tell a story with a human face. Let’s say, you’re reaching out to moms who are thinking about starting their own business. Why not connect with Maria, a 35 year old woman who lives in Brazil with 3 children ( a boy and two girls). [There are 30.4 million Brazilian Facebook users, 18+ at the time of writing]. Maria -one of these Facebook users- wants to start her home based business but has no idea where to start. Then, she meets this social media leader who helps her get started via Skype calls. What if you tell Maria’s success story with video and use it as an example for other moms who want to start their home based business.
Imagine the impact of the following pictures: Maria starts her own home based business. She sells colorful handbags via her online shop on Facebook. Maria sits in front of her computer. She looks proud into the camera and tells the viewer about her first customers. The children stand in the back of the room and smile. Maria’s mother looks at her daughter and shares some words in Portuguese. A close-up of Maria’s eyes shows a glistening tear. OK, so you get the message – picture.
