Do you wish to turn your Facebook landing tab into a sparkling welcome page?
Look no further. In this article you’ll learn 5 simple steps to customize your Facebook tabs with a free and easy to use iFrame application.
Before you learn how, let’s talk about “what iFrames are and why should you need one?”
Iframes allow you to embed HTML elements on the landing tab of your Facebook Page.
HTML elements are the basic building-blocks of webpages. HTML consists of tags.
Tags normally come in pairs like “<” h1 “>” and “<” /h1 “>”.
In this article you’ll learn how easy it is to embed Static HTML and create your own customized Facebook landing tab.
#1 Log in as the administrator of your Facebook page
Before you start, make sure you’re logged in as the administrator of the page (use personal profile and not page profile). On top right of Facebook’s Blue Bar you’ll see Account. Open the drop down menu to select how to use Facebook. In this case select Switch back to your “Facebook name”.
#2 Add iframe tabs application to your Facebook Page
Next, you’ll need to search for the iframe tabs application. This application will allow you to use Static HTML. Use the Facebook Search Box to find the application. Enter the keywords ‘static html’ to generate some great apps. One of them will be Static HTML: iframe tabs.

Click Add to My Page (first link bottom left). This will open up a new window that displays all your Facebook Pages (in case you have more than one). Select the page for the app. The App will display the Allow dialog. Clicking the Add button will authorize the app and you to go ahead and use the app.

#3 Change name of your Facebook landing tab
Go to your Facebook Page and select Edit Page (top right). Select Apps (left-hand column). Scroll down until you see the app Static HTML: iframe tabs. Click Edit Settings. Enter a custom tab name in the text box and hit save.
#4 Ceate customized Facebook tab
Finally, you can enter Static HTML code in two editing boxes. One is for content you’ll like to share with fans and the other for content targeted at your non-fans. Simply add the content for your fans in the editor on the bottom. Use the first editor to share the content with non-fans. Use a call to action and tell your Facebook Page visitors what they’ll receive if they Like your page. Once they have clicked on Like, the page will lead them to the content for fans only (programmed in the second editing box). Landing tabs for non-fans with a call to action (Like us to get access to this video) will invite new fans to your Facebook page.

For this example I used some promotional code that is generated by social media examiner to promote the Facebook Success Summit 2011. I simply copied and pasted the promotional HTML code in the first and second editing boxes and saved the customized tab.
If you don’t like landing pages with a scroll bar, simply select the tick box to the left of “No scrollbars”.
The new customized Facebook tab displays a tab on my Facebook page with a clickable header, and some text with a text link. I added a simple call to action: “Like us and get access to this video”. After visitors have liked the page, the tab will refresh and present the video and a clickable banner ad on the bottom.
#5 Set Customized Facebook Tab as Default Landing Tab
Finally. To make sure new visitors land on your customized landing tab, you have to set it as the default landing tab of your Facebook page. Go to edit page and select manage permissions on the left-hand column. Select default landing tab, choose the name of your new tab and hit save. Now, you’re set and done.
